Our estate

Our history

The history of Domaine Gaudet is deeply rooted in the terroirs of Burgundy, where our ancestors were already growing grapes and making wine in the 1560s.

It was at the beginning of the 20th century that my great-grandparents founded the estate in Saint-Sernin-du-Plain, marking the beginning of a family adventure that has lasted for several generations.

In 1978, my father Gilles took over the estate, which then consisted of about ten hectares in regional appellations. A visionary, and passionate about his work, he was one of the pioneers who first planted Chardonnay in our sector. When he met my mother Véronique, it marked a turning point – together, they developed the sale of wine in bottles and enhanced the reputation of our estate beyond the confines of Burgundy.

The estate today

Over the years, the estate has grown, enhanced by emblematic plots, from the Hautes-Côtes to the Santenay, not to mention Beaune Premier Cru and, since 2018, a vineyard in Corton Grand Cru, which is symbolic of our quest for excellence.

These days, at the helm of 22 hectares, I am proud to carry on our family’s efforts with my team by continuing to carefully cultivate these exceptional lands.

Each generation makes its own contribution but our mission remains the same – to produce authentic wines, faithful reflections of our terroir and our history.
