Bourgogne Pinot Noir « Altis »
Terroir
This Bourgogne Pinot Noir comes from one of our plots planted with high vines grown in widely spaced rows, located in the town of Saint-Sernin-du-Plain. Replanted in 2018, it enjoys a privileged location on a south/south-east-facing slope. The soil, composed of clay, limestone and versicoloured marl, gives this Pinot Noir a beautiful freshness and natural elegance.
Why ‘Altis’? The name ‘Altis’ originates from the Latin word altus, which means ‘high’, a shout-out to our high vine plants. This is not simply a method of planting or growing vines: these high vines embody a thoughtful and sustainable choice for the viticulture of tomorrow.
Perched on the hillsides, these plants benefit from several natural assets: their height and associated air circulation offer natural protection against certain diseases, and mitigate damage during late frost episodes, thus limiting treatments and interventions while promoting a more respectful approach to our environment.
‘Altis’ is, therefore, a tribute to these high vines and the careful work involved in creating beautiful full-bodied wines while preserving our terroirs.

Vinification & ageing
To unleash the full potential of this terroir, we use traditional vinification. Three days of pre-fermentation cold maceration precede daily pigeages and remontages, allowing for smooth and balanced extraction. After alcoholic fermentation, maturation occurs in vats for 10 to 12 months, depending on the vintage, in order to preserve the fruit and the freshness of the wine.
Tasting
A brilliant ruby robe; on the nose, a fresh and seductive bouquet of raspberry and cherry. On the palate, this wine presents beautiful precision, carried by fine and delicate tannins that are accompanied by subtle spicy notes. The structure is supple and elegant, with a lively and refreshing finish. A crunchy and gourmet Pinot Noir, perfect for moments of sharing!
